Born and raised in Alberta I fell in love with many sports at a young age. I was a tomboy with a mullet obsessed with the Edmonton Oilers and was constantly sketching when I wasn’t on the soccer field or shooting hoops in the back alley. I started playing soccer at the age of 4 and a few years later I knew when I “grew up” I wanted to play for the Canadian National Soccer team. Almost 13 years later I have been in three World Cups, two Olympic games and am a very proud bronze medalist from the 2012 London Olympic games – making history with a team I consider family.
I continue to sketch and paint when I’m not playing the beautiful game, I share my story with businesses and soccer communities across the country and have recently joined the brand Peau De Loup where I can express myself in one of my favorite ways – fashion.
As I get older I realize how important it is to be true to exactly who you are – and to have the courage to be just that so that all young people can grow up in a world that is accepting of all people – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, or heterosexual.
No matter what I do – when I feel I can be free to be me, I know I can do anything.
Here is a peek into the life I feel so fortunate to live.
